The current Angel reading talks about having Faith, faith,such a beautiful feeling to have, I feel sadness for the person that has troublehaving faith. So what is faith? The basic definition of faith is to believe without proof.

I’ve never had a problem with faith. I did not grow up in a religious house;however I did grow up with values of right and wrong. I attended many churches always eager to gowith a friend. And even though I happilyraised my children in my husband’s religion, I still don’t believe I belong toany one Religion, I believe in taking lessons from many different forms ofreligious and spiritual teachings and living the best of the best. I have 100% Faith in God. I have an open mind and believe that thereare many roads that will lead us to a spiritual awaking and there really is nowrong path, as long as that path teaches love, peace and compassion.

Learn without judgment, listen with and open mind, and speakwithout ego. There are many, many, greatteachers in this world both living and dead. The path to true faith is lettinggo of the need to control…. Just let go and have faith. When you release control, it truly is aliberating feeling.

Have faith, let go….. All is where it should be…. Whateverpath you are on right now, this path you were met to take, you may not know whyat this point, but if you let go and have faith, all will be revealed. Someday soon it will hit you, you will say…."thatis why I needed that experience; I need to live that so I could acknowledgethis.” I've been there... :) wishing you Faith! ~ Deb

I have plenty. As I clean and pack away the holiday decorations I pause to look around my home and discover that I have plenty. I am on this huge quest for spirituality. There's a longing in me to connect with a source that is inside and outside of me. I've been on this quest for many years now and I've accumulated many, many, great books, articles and interesting facts that YES, have all been helpful. As I look around, I see that....well, I think I have all that I need to study, read, and reflect. All this information that I have been gathering for so long all leads to one answer to my spirituality search..... Look With-in. All you need you already have, it's about connecting with that divine source that lives with-in all of us.

How do we do this? In Silence and Meditation. I know... "I can't sit still".... "I can't quiet my mind".... "I have aces and pains".... " I can't cross my legs" ........." I can't"..............

Yes, you CAN... it's about becoming the master of your mind. In the Movie, "Eat, Pray, Love".... when she starts out to learn to meditate and quite the mind, you see her struggle...this struggle is normal, so don't expect, just do. Don't give up, just be.... in time, you will get it. Start out small, and you will see. Give yourself this time everyday for 21 days and make it a habit. When yo can sit for thirty minutes or longer and not notice any thoughts, movements, itching, then you will have become the Mater of Your Mind. You will be in-charge and your thoughts will not. Put your focus on your breath, breathe in and out.....slowly... and just be in the moment. It will get easier! Sit in any position that feels right and just be. Don't let your Mind control you by giving you excuses, let your spirit be your guide. The more you come to this quite silence in the mind, the more you will connect with spirituality. This is the first step.

Today is what weare thankful for and today is the only day that matters. By being grateful for today, we bring a sinceof presence into our walking, talking, and reacting. If we can be more present in our current day,we bring appreciation into each moment. Appreciation for each other, for nature, and for even doing the ordinarydaily tasks, to live the life we want, we need to appreciate the life wehave. By appreciation and gratitude weattract appreciation and gratitude.

We are human beings and we’ll have days that end good anddays that end not so well, the key to remember is that we get to start overtomorrow. Do not dwell on what does notgo well, it was in our life to teach us a lesson, be grateful for that lesson,learn and move on. Each day is a new dayto begin again. Our lives are trulyblessed, my life is truly blessed and I am so grateful for you.

Welcome, hope you enjoy the new look, thought it was time to change it up-a-bit. New music has been added, please make yourself comfortable and enjoy.

This day is the Winter Solstice. It is the shortest day of the year. In Ancient times, winter has always been thought of as hibernation time, just like the bears go inward to a cave to sleep, it's a good time for all humans to spend sometime within. It's cold, so it's the perfect time to sit and reflect on the past, then let whatever does not serve you any longer go..... let it go and move on. It's the perfect time to recharge your body with extra sleep, quite and stillness. Spring will be here before you know it and then you'll have time to be active again, for now...just be.... Instead of letting the demands of the holiday season take over your spirit, stay centered and calm by sticking with your daily practice of meditation, yoga, quite, and mindfulness. Do not give them up just because company is coming, maybe company wants to play too.

The gift of a gift

Try something new this year. Pick a random person, neighbor, friend, or coworker. Leave them 12 small gifts, note cards of appreciation, or anything. Leave them one thing each day for the 12 days leading up to Christmas. It’s a fun way to give the gift of love. You have taken your time and have been creative for another person. You have spread some Christmas cheer and excitement and best of all you have given another person the gift of feeling special for 12 days. When I do this, I like to write a little poem that goes along with the gift. If you wish to give a card, you could personalize it each day to that person. Give them the gift of peace, joy, love, happiness….Get creative but most of all do this and remain anonymous. It’s so much fun to just give and expect nothing in return, no thanks, no attention….. It so much better

Today, come up with at least one creative idea to resolve a conflict, either in your personal life or your family circle or among friends. If you can, try and create an idea that applies to your community, the nation, or the whole world.

You may change an old habit that isn’t working, look at someone in a new way, offer words you never offered before, or think of an activity that brings people together in good feeling and laughter.

Second, invite a family member or friend to come up with one creative idea of this kind on his or her own. Creativity feels best when you are the one thinking up the new idea or approach. Make it know that you accept and enjoy creativity. Be loose and easy. Let the ideas flow and try out anything that has appeal. The purpose here is to bond, because only when you bond with others can there be mutual trust. When you trust, there is no need for hidden hostility and suspicion, the two great enemies of peace.

This is the day to experience the emotions of peace. The emotions of peace are compassion, understanding, and love. Compassion is the feeling of shared suffering. When you feel someone else's suffering, understanding is born.

Understanding is the knowledge that suffering is shared by everyone. When you understand that you aren't alone in your suffering, there is the birth of love. When there's love, there is the opportunity for peace.

As you practice, observe a stranger some time during your day. Silently say to yourself: this person is just like me. Always stop to help, no matter how small you think your "help" may be... every kind act is like a ripple in the pound...getting bigger and bigger... Every dollar given as a donation will be multiplied by many more...so yes, your dollar does go a long way. Don't let "fear" or "someday" stop you from doing what you can do today. Help... it makes a huge difference in the life of someone and there's always a friend, neighbor, and stranger that needs help and your "help" could be as simple as a prayer given or a hand held.

The best kind of help is quite help... one must never "boast" about help given... give from the heart and give without attachment. It's the best kind of "help".

The meaning behind the painting Symbolism

Just like the saying, “all the worlds a stage”, so is, “the world is full of signs” Signs have been around before Christ was born. If we slow down our life and observe our surroundings we will find that there are messages everywhere. Messages from God, the Angels, our past, messages from those who made mistakes, messages from those who found truth, messages about reaching enlightenment, spirituality, peace and harmony. The world is full of teachings, lessons, mistakes, and promises. It’s our human ego side that blocks us from recognize the lessons that are waiting to be learned. Our human ego that keeps us bound in doubt, self-loathing, unhappiness, despair, addictions, and anxieties. It’s time to free ourselves of these burdens that our human ego has placed upon us. Breathe and let go. Breathe and learn from the past, let go and begin again. It’s never to late to learn. It is never to late to forgive. It is never to late! Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Signs, support, and love are everywhere, just open your eyes and see. You will never reach a state of pureness if you cannot let go of control and just be.

The meaning

The birth chart = From England in the 17 Century. It starts with birth, so this painting begins in the beginning.

Ladder of Transmigration = Medieval Christian sign for the soul’s pilgrimage from earthly existence to paradise. Our only way to true living is reconnecting with our souls purpose and as we learn, we climb the ladder of existence to paradise.

Infinity = Referring to time, distance or numbers. Time, it goes on and on, locked in a cycle of forever, even after one’s soul travels to Heaven, time still remains. While we are gifted with the earthly life, it is imperative that we live a Godly life. Painted here, it also represents the eyebrow of the eye, which is long, and forever connected to wisdom and old age for a life long lived.

The Eye/Eyebrow = The ability to see, vision (literally and metaphorical), associated with magic or spiritual power in many traditions, in Chinese Buddhism long eyebrows are a sign of wisdom and old age. One eye open for the seeing of the world, one eye closed for the seeing of the soul.

Om = (Aum) the greeting of peace in India. The symbol represents the four states of consciousness: awake, dreaming, sleeping, without dreams and the transcendental state. I believe if we can live in the state of Om, then we will have found true self-peace. In meditation we begin with the chant Om and end with the chant Om. It’s the worlds most scared vibration and should be vibrated to the very tips of your toes to the top of your head.

The Cross = ending in the center of the eye is the symbol I feel is most widely know. The sign of the cross that represents Christ, many variations of the cross exist with many different significant meanings, but here it is simple and what I think we should never forget as we live each day and that the ultimate sacrifice Christ gave for us.

The old people came literally to love the soil, and they sat or reclined on the ground with a feeling of being close to a mothering power. It was good for the skin to touch the earth, and the old people liked to remove their moccasins and walk with bare feet on the sacred earth. Their tipis were built upon the earth and their altars were made of earth. The soil was soothing, strengthening, cleansing, and healing. That is why the old Indian still sits upon the earth instead of propping himself up and away from its life-giving forces. For him, to sit or lie upon the ground is to be able to think more deeply and to feel more keenly; he can see more clearly into the mysteries of life and come closer in kinship to their lives about him.

As I was walking by the shopping plaza today, and old man sitting on a bench looked at me and said, "hello". I said hello back and he proceeded to say, "you look happy, are you?" I said, yes...yes I am happy.... and he replied, "It shows."

What a nice thing to say... I look happy...just reminds us that like a sweater shows our figure, our moods show on our faces.

Today I had to deal with an angry parent. I work at a high school and sometimes it can be a difficult and challenging job. Like most jobs when you deal with the public, you also deal with other human emotions. Have you ever noticed how a negative angry person can leave a toxic waste after they have gone? Angry people are like static cling, they stick to you, so how do we deal with angry people?

1. Keep your cool
2. Breathe
3. Try and understand their point of view
4. Think before you speak
5. Be mindful of what comes out of you mouth
6. Always wish them a “great day” when they leave

Yaw, right you might say. Well, yes, I did keep my cool. I was pleasant even if the person left still mad. I was cheerful and positive but sometimes no matter what you do and how much you do, people are still just not happy. This is THEIR problem and do not let their anger and negativity attach to you like static cling.

I will admit that it took me about twenty minutes to detoxify my body from this persons vibrations but I did and I owe it all to the meditation breathing techniques that I have been studying for the last year.

I know that I am not the cause for this person’s unhappiness and I know that I have the power to protect and expel negative vibrations that others have from my body.

Next time you deal with an angry person, notice how you feel and how you react.

Angry people are fearful people. All anger comes from some source of fear. It’s in understanding fear that we can learn to deal with it and find our peaceful side.

Create Nurturing Mealtimes

Our experience while we're eating is just as important as the kinds of food we're consuming. If we're having a fight with our spouse over the dinner table, our stomach cells are aware of the upset and send distressed chemical messages throughout the body, preventing complete digestion and creating toxic residue in our body. to stroke our inner finer, we need to create a nurturing atmosphere for our meals, paying attention to all the senses: taste, sound, sight, touch, and smell. Here are a few tips for making your body happy while you eat:

Eat in a settled and quiet atmosphere./ When you eat, your attention should be on the food, so that you can enjoy the delightful flavors and fully activate your digestive system. Don't eat meals in front of the TV or computer or while you are driving.

Don't eat when you're upset. If you are feeling angry or distressed, your digestion will be weaken. Postpone your meal by going for a short walk or doing something your enjoy until you feel calm again.

Always sit down to eat. Even if you are just going to eat a few grapes or a cracker, take the time to sit down at a table. Pay attention to what you are doing and don't rush.

Only eat when you're hungry. Putting food in your body when you're not really hungry dampens the digestive fire and creates toxic residue.

Avoid ice-cold food and drinks. Cold beverages and foods tend to freeze the digestive fire, preventing complete digestion and absorption of nutrients. This is especially true of ice-cold food and drinks. You may be in the habit of drinking ice-water or other cold drinks, but if you eliminate them, within a few weeks you will find that your body feels much better and that you no longer mint them.

Sit quietly for a few minutes after your meal. This allows your body to settle effortlessly into a digestive rhythm.

No, you don’t have to be creative

Want your dreams to come true in 2011? Want to accomplish your goals? It’s easy, create a vision board, yes, it works. A vision board is a special place where you put your dreams, goals, ideas and things you wish to accomplish or have in your life. You may think this is silly, but a few years back my girlfriends (I call them my Angels) and I spent a day doing just this. We cut pictures out of magazines everything we wanted to see in our lives. Some of mine were having a fireplace mantel (done) learning how to meditate (done) have a wonderful garden with vines climbing around my patio (still growing but done) to loving my life (I love my life). Many more items where on my list and I can happily say that they have all come true. Now it’s time to create a new vision for 2011.

I use a bulletin board but anything will do, as long as it’s in a place that you can see every day. Mine is in my bedroom and when I have my quiet time in the morning, I spend time looking at it and believe that everything on my board is in the here and now. Feel how it feels… bask in the glory that anything and everything is possible.

It’s very simple, cut out pictures from magazines, quotes, and sayings, print out the same from the computer and post them up. Just ‘Goggle’ vision boards and see the many ideas that come up. I’m still working on mine and when I complete it, I’ll share it with you.

Good luck and have fun. Put a movie on, get some magazines and believe that if you can see it, you can have it and be it….

2011, it's going to be a great year. One with positive change and growth.

Why not start the year out by learning this simple breathing meditation. Give yourself this time, 3 times a day. Learning to breathe and quiet the mind can help relieve stress, anxiety, and illness in your life. Breathe... it's good for you.

Sit straight or lay down straight
Hands on abdomen
Eyes closed
Relax
Slowly breathe in, hold for a count of five
Slowly exhale for a count of five
Repeat for five breathes, each time breathing slower

Slowly breathe in and feel your hands on your abdomen sink into your belly. Breathe in as deep as you can and hold until it is almost uncomfortable

Slowly exhale the breath and feel your hands on your abdomen being pushed out by your abdomen. Exhale as far out as you can and hold as long as you can.

Repeat this five times, each time going slower and slower.

All your focus should be on your breath and if you find your mind jumping to other things then say to your self, I am exhaling, I am inhaling, I am breathing. I am breathing in good air and energy and I am exhaling bad air and waste from my body.

When this is complete, sit or lye down for as long as you need and simply be. Breathing in slowly and letting your mind float. You body will be tingly and feel refreshed. When you rise, rise slowly and be kind to yourself for the next hour.

Keep this in mind when you make your list to accomplish in the coming year or your life. Don’t call it a bucket list. Bucket list implies an end, things to do before you die. Call it your LIFE LIST, things to do, become, or accomplish during your life. AHHHH…. My Life List, it’s like a breathe of fresh air.

Share with me, what’s one thing on your Life list this year? Mine, Yoga, I want to master Yoga this year and make it a regular practice in my life.

Don't just print the address on the computers and have the store print your greeting. The written word is so special. Take the time to make someone’s holiday a little bright by taking the time to address, send blessings, and sign cards this season. Your time and effort goes along way.

Wishing you joy as you dust off your address book and sit down with a warm cup of coffee to fill out your hand written holiday greetings to those you love.

Don’t forget what it feels like to open your mailbox and see greetings wished to you. Brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.

My Giving Challenge

My giving challenge

Recently I heard a wonderful speech by a great pastor. He talked about giving back to God. We should always give back first. We receive a paycheck and we run out and spend it on stuff. But how many of us actually give back? I like to give to charities, but often you send a check in the mail and that’s that. I want to physically hand my dollars over to someone. I want to connect with someone in need. I’ve made it a goal that for every painting I sell, I will give the first 10% back to God; after all, he’s the one that blessed me with my artistic talents. I’ve always considered myself a giving person. I am always feeding kids at work who forget there lunch. I’m always giving here and there but for some reason, this message really hit home with me. I’m not doing enough. How many times have I seen a person outside the store asking for donations for one good cause or another? How many times have I seen a homeless person begging on the street? How many times has God presented himself to me and given me the chance to do well by others? Countless times, that’s how many. And you know what, the times that I do give a dollar bill or two, I walk away feeling wonderful. Often the person that you gave the donation too will say, “Bless you”. A complete stranger is giving you a blessing for giving them four quarters, how wonderful that is! But, when I pass by and don’t give, I am racked with guilt. I should have given, what if that was a test, what if that was Jesus. I should have given. My mission from now on is to always have a hand full of one-dollar bills to donate to anyone who asks for it. What they do with it is up to them, but I will do my part to thank God for his blessings to me and I will share what I have with this world.

My philosophy is this

If you can afford Starbucks, pedicures, massages, dinners out, and any other luxury, you can afford to give. And believe me, giving is the best “feel good drug” you could ever take.

I cannot get over the fact that one book can make you want to change so much. The book, The Power by Rhonda Byrne is truly a wonderful read. We all read books on how to change our lives and become a better person but putting that law into action can sometimes be hard. We wake up in the best frame of mind ever; today is going to be a great day. I will put LOVE first. I will be that peaceful, positive person. I will not let negative energies affect me. I will be! we go along with the most wonderful feeling in the world, and then someone walks in and BAM! they say something and we fly-off the handle.... What just happened? Where did my calm go...my peace just hit rock bottom.... was that me, did that negative reaction just come flying out of my peaceful mouth.... ugh...You can actually feel it, feel the anger and stress meter in your body go sky high just like a thermometer when it gets hot. Our body stress gets hot too. So what do we do? How do we stop that reaction? The only thing I can figure out is that maybe that negative person was put there so we could practice. If we can't stop our negative reacting then we have not master a truly peaceful state of mind yet. There's still so much more to learn.

How do we get back to our peaceful state....we apologize with all the love we can find in our heart. We say we're sorry for our reaction. We give love, and go for a walk and observe the beauty that's around us. We try again. we change the way we feel.... one act of love at a time.

Make peace with your feelings. Once you are in touch with your feeling, acknowledge it. Don’t attack the feeling, bemoan it, or apologize for it or even try to feel “fine” about your unwanted feeling. All of these strategies reinforce denial of feelings. As strange as it may sound, feelings have feelings, and they know when they are unwanted and will cooperate by going underground. Fear cooperates by trying to hide. Anger cooperates by pretending it doesn’t exist. It’s impossible to accept an unwanted feeling, and until you simply allow and acknowledge a feeling, it will persist. That is all you need to do. Tell your feeling, “I see you. You belong to me.”

As you practice acknowledging your feelings, they will start to feel less unwanted and then they will begin to tell you their story. Every feeling contains a story: “I am this way for a reason.” Be receptive to the story that emerges, no matter what it is. Most painful stories of guilt, shame, resentment, inferiority, and other primal negativity are rooted in childhood. Imagine the small child that you were and, as best you can, be gentle and accepting. Remind yourself that you had a valid reason for denying or rejecting a feeling or aspect of yourself.

Now that you are an adult, you no longer need to protect yourself from a childhood that is long past. You can now experience the full range of your emotions in complete safety, knowing that you aren’t a threatened child but a magnificent spirit. The more you practice allowing your feelings – and meditation is a powerful tool in this process – the more peace, love, and self-acceptance will expand in your experience.

Life doesn't have to be hard.... just let go and do it.

We tend to make our life hard. We fret over problems that come up. We worry over money. We struggle with time. We see piles of chorus and get overwhelmed with where to start. We make commitments we can't keep. We say things we regret. We make mistakes and then we sulk over it for days. All this does is weight us down and makes us feel heavy. A heavy heart makes for a sad heart. The best we can do for ourselves is to forgive. We don't need to be perfect. There are NO perfect people. Forgive yourself, quit beating yourself up. Make a list of what needs to be done and one by one do it. Cross you items off your list and praise yourself for a job well done.

End each day with a reward for a day well lived, mistakes and all. What’s your reward? A piece of candy, a drink, a bath, and nice walk in the moonlight, often it’s the little things like these that make all the “hardships” worth it. Don’t fret, be happy J

Lying on a soft, green grassy hill

Take the time to become deeply relaxed, and then imagine that you are lying on a soft, green grassy hill on a warm, early summer afternoon, starting up at the clouds. Feel the warmth of the ground beneath you and be aware of the different areas of your body that touch the earth. Feel the slight breeze as it lightly dances across your body. Smell the warm summer air, it smells a little of the earth and fresh-mown grass. listen to the drone of insects...and the faraway sound of birdsong as it wafts through the air. Positive Affirmation Art

Well I finally took the plunge and went for it. It’s been a long time coming. We can sometimes be so positive for other people that we lose ourselves along the way. I finally believed in ME! I finally started my on-line Etsy Shop to “hopefully” sell my “positive affirmation art”. Not all my arts on-line, but this art I feel will touch a spot within all of us. I believe 100% in the power of our own words. What we say to ourselves last forever. Do you look in the mirror and say, “ugh, I’m fat, ugly, unlovable…. and so on”… NO YOU ARE NOT! You are perfect! God made us all different and the sooner we learn to love all there is about ourselves, the better. So came about my Positive Affirmation Art.

My positive affirmation art came about when I started to meditate. During some meditations I would be guided to say positive affirmations and this invoked a feeling in myself that I had been lacking. Our society today relies on others to make us complete. We rely on others to approve of ourselves, to tell us that we’re beautiful, strong, talented, loved, healthy, intelligent, worthy, and so much more. It’s when we stop relying on others to fulfill our emotional and spiritual needs and learn that we are responsible for our inner peace that we can truly find our happiness.

I’ve created my “positive affirmation” art to inspire you. Reflected mirrors for you to look upon and a positive affirmation at the bottom for you to repeat to yourself. Are you beautiful? Yes, you are, so look upon yourself and gaze in the center and tell yourself that, I AM BEAUTIFUL. If you do this every time you pass this lovely picture, before you know it, you’ll believe it.

There is only one you. No other person is like you and you’re beautiful, strong, talented, loved, healthy, and intelligent, worthy and you deserve to be happy.

As said in this book, “Names, titles, and places lose their validity as soon as you leave the human plane. The emotion behind them lasts forever”. So what does this mean, simply, leave Love.

The Author, Betsy Otter Thompson asked me if I would be willing to read and write a review of her new book, “Walking Through Illusions”. Yes, please! Although I’m far from being a professional writer and I do struggle with the written word from time to time, I love a good book, especially one that’ll expand the mind, awareness in God, and help you become a better person. Love yourself and admit your faults, correct them and move on. Live a life of love and service to others. Be humble and understanding and have an open mind. I think the biggest disservice to us is, our own EGO and our limiting belief system of our past preprogrammed way of thinking. Once we learn to deal with our EGO, that source inside us that lives for the “me” factor. When we can stop living a life of “me” then, we can truly be free. Live a life of love, spread love, not hating or blaming others for our own problems.

The book “Walking Through Illusion” gives an account of what some of the people in the Bible struggled with in their own lives. I guarantee that each one of us can relate to one of the carters in this book, from Bartholomew, Peter, Paul, Lazarus, Kaleb, to Philip, and many more. This book gives you a view of the lives of these people and the personal struggles they may have dealt with. This book is written in a Q and A format with a one-on-one dialog between Jesus and the Author.

This is the kind of book that I love to read because it’s one that’s written to be an interaction with the reader. In this book, “Walking Through Illusion” the author gives you thoughts to ponder, worksheets at the end of the chapters, and my favorite, her very own personal insights into what she herself has learned and how it related to her own life.

“Walking through Illusions is not a supplement to another book it’s a supplement to the heart. It offers an emotional accounting of what might have been, not a historical accounting.”

In my opinion, one can only learn to forgive oneself and move on into a complete life of love when one strips down their life and looks at it from a mindset of “what I have in my life, I am responsible for.” When one takes blame for ones own actions, then the healing will begin. Like the people in the book what we struggle with now, they struggled with centuries ago. Now is the time to learn from our past, fix the problems and move into a life of pure love. The past is our teacher, the present the student; it’s time to learn.

I recommend reading this book but take your time doing it; give yourself a week on each chapter. Take time to answer the questions at the end of each chapter and to sit in quite to ponder the statements. If you like a group setting, it’s also a great book-club book. Come together with a group to answer the question and share with each other. Group discussion can be awesome and have a wonderful healing power.

For many years I knew that we were to have a day of rest but it was not until I married my husband that I really found out the true meaning of keeping the Sabbath Day holy!
You see for years I would clean house, work on many projects and just do what ever needed to be done after church. But the last few weeks my husband and I have spent time just being together, sometimes we read, go for walks in the park, go visit elderly people or a friend that is lonely, laying on a blanket underneath a big shaded tree reading a book out loud and skipping rocks in the river. No matter what it is just as long as you are resting and enjoying Gods beauty around us.

I hope you will just try this after church on Sunday and I'm sure you will be blessed as I have. I thank my husband for showing me how beautiful Sundays can be and what God meant about resting and keeping the Sabbath day holy. Donna

Heal your life, get a pet

My baby girl... well, she's 7 now.. so my big girl...

If you’re sad and lonely, lost and filled with nothing inside and you just don’t know how to start to heal yourself, because there is always a way to heal, there is always a way back to finding your most happy, loving, perfect self, it’s just that some people have never been there or have lost their way. I know this may sound like a simple solution, but it’s a step into finding love and with love…. all will come and be healed. Go to you local shelter and adopt a pet. Adopt a dog or cat. Walk around the shelter and look into the eyes of the pets there, I guarantee that if you feel unloved, you wont anymore. When we give of ourselves for another (even an animal) it’s the first step to healing. There are thousands upon thousands of animals that die everyday day because they have no one to care for him or her. A pet will love you regardless of looks, station in life, ailments, or any kind of hang-up you may think you have. All a pet needs is love and food. I guarantee that if you adopt a pet, it will fill your heart with love and it will save a life.

The definition of Hope

I was reading somewhere in one of my many books about the word HOPE. That we should take it out of our vocabulary, ok so let’s think about this. HOPE? What does that mean to you? Think about it…. In order to have HOPE, we must have despair of our current situation. I looked up the definition of the word HOPE in the dictionary and I found words like; hope that events will turn out for the best, hope of winning, little or no hope of recovering, hoping for something, reasonable confidence, satisfactory, and the one that gets me the most is, hope against hope that things will turn out when outlook doesn’t look good. I have decided that I will take out the word HOPE from my vocabulary. It is a word that has negativity attached to it. I don’t want to live in a state of hope… I want to live in a state of Joy, Happiness, and Completeness. I have all that I need, I am complete, my life is great, and I have an abundance of happiness, health, and wealth. There is no need for “hope” in my world; to declare that you need hope is to declare to the world that you’re outlook is bleak. My outlook is AWESOME, FANTASTIC, and life is GREAT!

Changes

If you keep doing the same things in life, you will get the same results. So, if your not happy with what you have right now in life, it’s time to change.

Many women feel deep inside that they don’t really deserve to have their dreams fulfilled, so they unconsciously sabotage any notion of success because they feel unworthy.

Today you can begin taking control of your life and directing its course, rather than always being influenced by the mass consensus. Ultimately, our reality is created by what the people around us agree to at the same time. The challenge is to choose the circumstances of your life instead of manifesting your reality by default.

Be pulled into the future by what you want in life, rather than what you don’t want.

Change your thinking… from, “I don’t want to work with this person, she’s so negative and mean to people.” Change your thinking to, “I am so happy I work in a positive, uplifting work place.” Say it everyday, and just watch what happens. Whatever situation you want to change, don’t talk about the negative side, but focus on what you want instead and put yourself in the mindset that you have it and are thankful for it.

The change that might occur may be a change you never even thought about before. Have faith that any form of change can be good, as long as it comes from your positive thinking. Over a year ago I was losing my job. I loved my job. I loved working with kids (I work at a high school) but due to budget cuts, I was being laid-off. I was heart broken but when I was thinking about my job, I was thinking that, “I just wanted a job at the same school.” I would say, “ I am so happy and grateful for my full time job at the same school.” I was blessed with getting a new position after someone retired and I was hired and guess what, it was a blessing and I love it. I feel I am in the right job at the right time and I am grateful. Sometimes, our manifestations take a little different road but with the same end results.

Good Book

I’m in the process of reading a good book. It’s a book that's written by a woman for women. It celebrates the beauty, power, and awe that women are.

On Thursday I went to attend a guided meditation class. I’d never been to a guided meditation class and it took some courage on my part to go not knowing what to expect, but I did go and I was proud of myself for taking this step. When I got there, I was very saddened to find out that it had been canceled. I live a bit away, so I had a drive. I had a few hours to myself and I really wanted to attend this class. So instead, I shopped in the store for a while. I love this store. I was prepared to spend 15.00 on the meditation class, so I had 15.00 to spend…… What to buy! You guessed it; I bought a book called Secrets and Mysteries, the glory and pleasure of being a woman. Now I’ll be honest with you. It might be hard for some to read, you must have an open mind. You must be willing to see beyond your old belief system that you have been fed by society. I have to say, I’m over half way done with the book. I have laughed my head off at some parts…and went Ohhh… at other parts. But, honestly, it’s a great book and I recommend it, especially if you have ever wondered… what am I missing?

I have also added the Author of this book, Denise Linn’s web-site to our list of “favorites” on the side bar. Her site is Amazing. She has some wonderful meditation links on her page under “mystic portals”.

So now I have to wonder, was I even meant to take that meditation class, or was I meant to buy that book? I took the book and went directly to the beach to read for an hour, I was hooked; my life will forever be changed. It’s funny how things work out; I found what I need most at the right time in my life.

Fresh coat of paint

I’ve been painting my walls in my home this week. Every wall gets a new color. It’s funny; I never noticed how dirty and sad looking my walls were until I painted one. A freshly painted wall next to one that hasn’t been painted in years, WOW… Am I that messy? Honestly, where does the dirt come from? It’s not like I took greasy handprints and decided to finger paint, but alas, the dirt, dust, and fingerprints found my walls… so, it was time for a fresh coat of paint. While painting my walls I couldn’t help but let my little mind wander to the significance of how we all need a new coat of paint every now-an-again. I’m a strong believer of change coming from the inside first… but I’ll be honest with you, whenever I get my hair done, I feel like I’ve got silk for hair, just like that commercial on TV where the model flicks her hair and it tumbles in beautiful waves. When I get a new outfit that slims my body, I walk a little taller and catch myself glimpsing in the window as I pass by and feel a smile upon my face…saying, “not bad for 43”. When I put on a new pair of high heals, I feel my feet singing…. "I feel GOOD… lets walk forever". Yes… I can be a bit superficial. I know it may be a sin to want materialist things, but… honestly… if you need to treat yourself to a little “materialism” every once in-a-blue moon to lift your spirits, I say, “Do it”. Sometimes a little change on the outside can bring great change on the inside. If you feel you look good, you pass that “glow” on to others, you hold your head up high with your fresh coat of paint and shine and that shines contiguous.

Wear your new haircut, out-fit and high-heal shoes. Go spread happiness because you feel like happiness.

Be a paintbrush and give your little world a fresh coat of paint... Peace to you, Deb

Some times the hardest thing for us to do is to ask for help. I don't know why, even I have a hard time with this. Women in today's world feel they need to do it all. Why? There's no prize at the end. It's not a race. We won't remember that we "did it all" after we die, and honestly, who loses when we try to do it all? It's time to slow down.... look in the mirror and say.... stop... I will stop and smell the flowers today. I will do one thing at a time and I will not walk faster or think more than one thought or one step at a time. Today, I will be gentle with myself and I WILL LOVE ME for it.

Tread softly my dear friends and if you need help, ask... say... "hey, what do you think?", " hey, what would you do?", Hey, ... can you help me...?" We women, we're all we have sometimes. Men don't get it. We need to stick together... SO.... I am here for you friends...all you have to do is ask..

I listened to a speaker last night at the Relay for life event for the American cancer Society that I participate in every year. This speaker had a wonderful story and I thought I’d share one little bit with you that really made me think.

This speaker had been the caregiver to her mom; her mom battled cancer and eventually lost her seven-year battle to it. The speaker had talked about her mom and what a wonderful person she was. She talked about how wonderful her life had been and about how complete her life was. Her mom new everyone and had been such a wonderful member to the community. As her mom lay dying in bed, the daughter asked her a questions, she said she didn’t know where the question had come from, she wasn’t thinking it in here head… it just came out… She said, “Mom, how did you grow your heart so big, how is it that you have all this love for people and people have this love for you…” and the mom said, “ I said YES”.

Those three little words when asked can truly make a difference. Everything you are asked to do, stop and think… what’s it gong to cost me…. A little bit of my time, then say YES. Yes child, I will take the time to play a game with you. Yes, friend I will take the time to listen to your troubles. Yes, stranger, I will cook you a dinner. Yes, I will help make a difference in this world.

One YES at a time… we can grow our hearts Bigger.

Go Grow today in small little ways, say YES.

After all, an insult is coming from someones "bad day"... ever notice, that negative people, grumpy people, lonely people, sad people and people without God... these are the people that are negative, these are people that ONLY feel good when they bring others down...So, Ignore there insults and see where it's coming from.
